Another release here by new UK label FOURTHREESIX who we just shone the spot light on last week with their first artist colab with James Mannion and Mr Penfold.
This second producer/artist colab is by Paul Dobson and Bristol graphic artist ReToX. Another unique tee printed with the EP art, tracklist and code to download the music on the inside of the shirt. Dope
The record is on the house tip, moody and on the deeper side of things. Lush vocal samples and big chord breaks and builds dropping into energetic yet controlled 4 on the floor. Check it out.
Many moons ago I was putting out some NineLives The Cat and ZAP! POW! DIE! records with a little UK club indie called GroundLevel, run by label boss Andy McAllister. Long time purveyor of all things electro with breaks in particular, Andy recently though took a backseat from the GroundLevel records and started up a new project for eclectic electronica called FOURTHREESIX.
His idea has been to put out producer EP's coupled with exclusive art that is printed onto a tee with a code on the inside of the shirt that gets you access to the download of the record. It's a cool way to merge music and street artists and we've been super psyched to work alongside his first signing (with more to come) James Mannion and the Mr Penfold colab.
The record is a super moody, deep electro boiler that kicks hard. It's def some early morning dank south London warehouse vibes day two. Strap in for a flipper or ten.
All mastered here at The Submarine. Look forward to working with these guys again and again!!
Welcoming Cassandra Sun into the ever growing fold of great new bands coming through the studio. Band description via Bandcamp..
"Cassandra Sun is the joining of a Michigander rhythm section for hire, a math guitar visionary from Moscow and a Brooklyn native singer-songwriter in the creation of an eclectic brand of pop-oriented rock incorporating furious, prog-influenced drumming, bass as a counterpoint compositions, and textured, rhythmic guitar".
We had the pleasure of tracking these guys making full use of the live room, drumkit and amps available here. The record was mixed over in Russia by an engineer friend of guitarist Vlad. We are super psyched for these guys and their new record. Check it out below at the Bandcamp link
