SNUBNOSE MONKEYS

VANTUM NOIR + BLUE NOVEMBER

Picture
Welcome to the sound of the Snubnose Monkeys.

This project is both Vantum Noir and Blue November. Another one of the many projects spearheaded by Vantum. A deeper, weirder ride into hip hop. Super atmospheric, moody beats takes you on a ride not to dissimilar to the sounds of early Kool Keith/Dr Octogon.

Look forward to hearing more from these guys in the future!! Check it.

RENA

COLORS

Introduction to Rena..

Awesome song writer, artist and performer from Philly. Her most recent offering "Colors" was the first song of hers that landed here at The Submarine a little while back and from then on has been a ongoing stream of intelligently crafted pop songs that I've had the pleasure of working on.

The video for Colors totally compliments this eclectic combination or all the best elements of the electro synth pop lane. Coupled with some great animation alongside the main treatment this is all summer time no doubt.

Co-produced, mixed and mastered here at The Submarine

Enjoy!

Under The Tongue - Potions

UNDER THE TONGUE

~~~POTIONS~~~
Under The Tongue are both Mark and Julia Eden, living and working from their home in Berlin Germany. Their new video for the single "Troubled Mind" featured here a little while back. A bizzare and otherworldly first installment and testament of what was to follow, ultimately being this epic new album "Potions".
Officially released on Valentines day of this year, Potions is a dark and mysterious ride but an essential one that delves into the psyche of both protagonists and essentially brings out the character and charm of this multifaceted album. It feels like a very personnel account and from the very beginning you are drawn into their world, a mix of Pan's Labyrinth meets Tom Waits in wonderland. Clanging, clanking drums and percussion layered with beautiful guitar and piano arrangements bind the productions together. Complete with the beckoning voices of both Mark and Julia throughout this full length make for an intriguing Journey from start to end.
The record was mixed at The Submarine and was quite a tumultuous little mission but a very rewarding one once all was finalized :)
Mastered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering (Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix). This was definitely an honor having Submarine mixes pass through the hands of this industry legend.
All in all a wonderful record and achievement!!! Check it out!!!
Vantum Noir - Not Much
VANTUM NOIR
<<<NOT MUCH>>>
PRODUCED BY DEAD TECH
Picture
Another track out the gate by Queens native Vantum Noir. This follow up release to "Loaded" has the style switch up getting way more twisted ala early Company Flow (El P) now Run The Jewels, asylum type beats.
A murky ride inside the mind of Vantum Noir with his characteristic low tone reggae slash rap delivery. This is not safe music, but if your willing to brave the wild and explore the realness then this crew's sound is for you.
Produced by Dead Tech and mixed/mastered here at The Submarine.
Tony Romera
 _____ALL I WANT_____
Picture
Picture
Here's a little gem of a banger, All I Want, by French electro house producer Tony Romera.
The vocals used in this production were taken from the Loopmasters (Monster Sounds) New York Rap Acapellas Vol2 and performed by my alter-ego rap alias NineLives The Cat. The Loop masters pack was the second edition I was asked to put together by Blacknoise (Aquasky) and has been an ongoing and successful selling pack of rap phrases, hooks and vox bites over at the Loopmasters site for the past 3 years. This second volume of samples featured Johnny Nelson (Hot Crew 57), Lix Prolific, Frisco York (now Michael Dean) and Kiel-O of Memberz Only (Rad Out Crew) and of course myself as NineLives The Cat (Boogie Boutique). All recorded and processed at The Submarine.
This track is super dope on that techy disco vibe. Keep your ears peeled for a proper NineLives The Cat feat colab with both Tony Romera and Tocadisco in the near future!
