WE ARE ENFANT TERRIBLE The Submarine has been mad busy of late and for that ive been super psyched and super fortunate sametime that all the projects coming through have all also been totally inspiring and awesome fun to produce and mix..
So in response to this the next installment on the artist spotlight we gonna take a look at is French outfit "We Are Enfant Terrible". Based in both Paris and Lille (north of Paris) and made up of essential crazies Cyril Debarge (drums) Thomas Fournay (guitar, samples, synths) and Clotilde Floret (vocals). The first time i met these good lunatics was a Death Set tour a couple of years ago we embarked on through France and Germany where they toured with us and accompanied us on all kinds of mischievious madness and fun shows. It was constant ridiculousness. From crashing awkward hipster college parties and hot pink bicycles to dive bombing prized manicured garden hedges and making out with mannequins in hotel front lobbys. it all made perfect sense at the time and still does. So as time went on and as i grew a genuine love for these guys music i really had a feeling that i would love to produce and mix their record. And its been a minute, but its happening and the first few tracks of the LP have just landed at The Submarine. and i gotta say this record, the songs sound so great, really awesome!!! Im not gonna give too much away but its got this LCD soundsystem/Hotchip-esque rhythmic swagger, but way dreamier, even more quirkier and more French :) its super dope and super sexy. Apparently this record is looking to be released around September so keep an ear out.. Though in the meanwhile, their new EP "Anything Less Then Ordinary is a Waste of my Time" has just dropped a couple of weeks ago through their own label PiL Records. Track 2 "Carry On" was mixed here at The Submarine and mastered back in France by Thomas from WAET. check out the We Are Enfant Terrible soundcloud for a listen to this record and if you feelin it!!!! you can grab a copy from ITunes right HERE :) Enjoy this..
